FASHION AND ARTS - YSL AND MAGDALEN WITH THE SMOKING FLAME

Magdalen is looking at the smoking flame and is thinkink about the meaning of the end of life. In fact she has in her hand a skull, symbol of death.

The author has been inspired by the painting "La Madeleine à la flamme filante" by Georges De La Tour, but the meaning of two images is very different.
This adversing picture is a simili of one of the same YSL campaign, about Monna Lisa and has a strong relationsheep with it.
The man is a symbol of fashion, a new form of art, who is admiring the woman who is a symbol for the classic art.

The man and the woman are almost specular and this fact means that they are similar, but the art is dressed, fashion is naked with some tattoos on the skin.

It signifies that fashion learns from art how to create garments and fashionable objects.
